📚 Degree of Comparison

Degree of Comparison digunakan untuk membandingkan sifat atau keadaan antara dua orang, benda, atau lebih. Ada tiga tingkat perbandingan (degree) dalam Bahasa Inggris:

1️⃣ Positive Degree (Tingkat positif)

👉 Menyatakan sifat biasa tanpa perbandingan.
Polanya:

• as + adjective + as
  Contoh:

• She is as tall as her sister.
  (= Dia setinggi saudara perempuannya)

2️⃣ Comparative Degree (Tingkat lebih)

👉 Menyatakan perbandingan dua orang/benda.
Polanya:

• adjective + -er + than (untuk kata sifat pendek)

• more + adjective + than (untuk kata sifat panjang)

Contoh kalimat:

• My house is bigger than yours.

• She is more beautiful than her cousin.

⚠️ Aturan:
Jika kata sifat berakhiran -y, ubah y → i sebelum menambahkan -er.
Contoh:

• happy → happier

3️⃣ Superlative Degree (Tingkat paling)

👉 Menyatakan yang paling di antara 3 orang/benda atau lebih.
Polanya:

• the + adjective + -est (untuk kata sifat pendek)

• the most + adjective (untuk kata sifat panjang)

Contoh:

• She is the tallest girl in the class.

This is the most interesting book I’ve ever read.

   → Dia adalah murid paling cerdas di kelas.

   → Filmnya lebih seru daripada yang saya kira.

8. She is more patient than her friends.
   → Dia lebih sabar daripada teman-temannya.

9. That was the most dangerous road we took.
   → Itu adalah jalan paling berbahaya yang kami lewati.

    → Kursi ini lebih nyaman daripada yang itu.
